Check the enemy king three times and you win.
Three-Check is the easiest variant to teach a chess player — one sentence of new rules — and it changes evaluation completely. Checks that a strong player would dismiss as pointless become progress on a scoreboard.

How it changes your play
Sacrifices for a single check are frequently sound: a piece for one third of the win condition is a real price.
Defence means removing checking squares, not just defending material. Advancing the h-pawn to stop a bishop check is a normal opening move here.
Questions about Three-Check Chess
- Does a discovered double check count twice?
- No. Any single move that gives check adds exactly one to your counter, regardless of how many pieces attack the king.
